Turning Margins into Momentum: OPUS Cactus® at the Africa Green Hydrogen Summit AGHS 2025

🌿 Turning Margins into Momentum: OPUS Cactus® at the Africa Green Hydrogen Summit ⚡

Last week, OPUS Cactus®, represented by Joeri van den Bovenkamp – Hofman, had the privilege of being hosted by the Netherlands Embassy and Consulate in South Africa at their stand during the Africa Green Hydrogen Summit — and what an energizing few days it was!

We were proud to present our green gas solution — biomethane produced from Opuntia cacti grown on marginal, semi-arid lands — a scalable, regenerative model for clean energy, climate resilience, and land restoration. This solution also enables downstream conversion to green hydrogen, bridging nature-based innovation with future-proof energy systems.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Netherlands Embassy and Consulate in South Africa for the platform and support — and to all those we had the pleasure of engaging with, including Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), SAREBI, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development, Technology Innovation Agency and many others. We look forward to the inspiring follow-ups and collaborations ahead.

At OPUS Cactus®, we believe in growing green molecules from the ground up. Let’s keep driving nature-based innovation together. 🌱💚
